Motivational Strategies, Inc. respects your privacy. This web site does not use cookies and does not track individual visitors or keep a record of individual visitors for any purpose. Motivational Strategies, Inc. does not release to any other organization, person, or agency the email addresses or names of visitors to this web site. All inquiries to this web site are regarded as private information and are not shared with any external agency or organization. The exception is when the inquiry indicates real or potential danger to animals or human beings; such information will be reported to the proper authorities, where possible, under a legal "duty to warn."

Client Confidentiality Policy

At Motivational Strategies, Inc., your privacy and the confidentiality of your records is a top ethical priority. When you become a client of Motivational Strategies, Inc., no matter what type of service you receive, the information you give about yourself and the information in your file is confidential to Motivational Strategies, Inc. Your written, signed consent is required, if this information is released to third party. The exceptions are:

If you have informed the practitioner of abuse or neglect of a child, elderly person, or disabled person, the practitioner is required by law to report such information to the proper authorities.

If the practitioner believes you are a clear and imminent danger to yourself or others, the practitioner is required by law to report such information to the proper authorities.

If you are a licensed health care provider, and the practitioner has determined that, due to substance abuse or emotional disturbance, you are not able to practice competently, the practitioner is required by law to report such information to the proper authorities.

Motivational Strategies, Inc. is allowed to disclose the minimum information required to process billings, respond to insurance inquiries, collect payments, schedule appointments, and perform normal business operations.

In group, family, or couples counseling, neither Motivational Strategies, Inc. nor its representatives are responsible for the actions of participants regarding confidentiality of information discussed during counseling sessions.

When a client gives written, signed permission to Motivational Strategies to release client information to a third party, Motivational Strategies, Inc. is not responsible for the confidentiality of that information, once it is in the hands of a third party.

Motivational Strategies, Inc. is not bound by confidentiality when the client is the subject of a criminal investigation, where the client’s mental status is an issue before the court, or where disclosure of records is court-ordered.

Motivational Strategies, Inc. will render services to minors only with written parental consent. Therefore, the parent has the right to request review of the treatment record.

In keeping with accepted standards of practice, the practitioner may consult with other professionals regarding management of client services, to ensure quality care, or for the purposes of training and instruction. In this event, every effort will be made to protect client identity.
