Hypnotherapy enhances the success of diet-and-exercise programs (for more information click here). The WHY program puts the control into your hands and makes YOU responsible for the choices you make about food and exercise. Recordings of the hypnotherapy sessions reinforce your progress and you get to help design your own hypnotic suggestions! Incentives to succeed are built into the structure of the program, because you do not advance to the next step until you are successfully reducing your weight and shedding those excess pounds! Once you have achieved a reduction of at least SIXTEEN pounds, you have all the tools and methods you need to continue the program on your own, or continue with follow-up sessions.
Note: This program is for individuals who wish to reduce
weight by at least 40 pounds. To participate, the client must 1) have a
recent physical exam and consultation with a physician about weight and
health 2) select a safe, balanced nutritional plan and stay on it and 3)
by the 7th session, choose a safe and realistic exercise plan and be willing
to pursue it. See Dr. Pearson for referrals to local nutritionists and
physicians, as needed.
WHY Program—The Eight Sessions
Session 1: Program Overview and Interview
In this session we will set your goals and plan how to personalize the
program for YOU! You’ll receive The WHY Program Client Workbook,
a hypnosis relaxation CD, and Healthy Habits—a 275-page book co-authored
by Dr. Judy Pearson. You can get started right away.
Session 2: “Why Do I Overeat?” Examining unconscious motivations
Session 3: Self Hypnosis Training for managing habit and emotions
Session 4: Stress Management for ending Emotional Eating
After session #4, you will schedule additional sessions when you have reduced at least four pounds, between each session. Reduce four pounds, and schedule the next session. You are in charge, so you work at your own pace. You donít advance to the next step until you are actually losing weight! Motivation improves when you actually see results
The remaining four sessions, below, are one-hour hypnotherapy sessions, customized to your needs. You will receive a CD recording of each session.
Session 5: Sensible Eating Choices—What you eat.
Session 6: An Intelligent Relationship with Food—How you eat.
Session 7: Motivation to Exercise
Session 8: Deeper Hypnosis for Lasting Change and Self-Assurance.
